“I have been a conveyancer since 1990. I have used one software program since the start, but many changes have occurred in the last few years, and although I was reluctant, I had to change.
Over the past couple of years I have worked with 3 different systems; all had pros and cons, but I found the 'no manual, help on line, and/or telephone' approach made it difficult to learn. I have used only Mac computers for many years, so I not only had to learn new software, but the PC operating system as well.
In October of 2006, after trying the econveyance system from time to time, I decided that I would make the change. Some custom documents that are particular to my office were inserted into the program, and I was good to go. As I was learning the new system, I stuck with the paper LTO forms that I was familiar with.
The system takes a bit of getting used to (which for me, all new programs do), but once I became familiar with navigating the system and the names used for various documents, I found it to be excellent. The accounting data entry, calculations, and reminder functions are particularly first-rate.
The biggest asset however, is the telephone assistance. The women who answer the phones are friendly, knowledgeable and extremely helpful. They are also conveyancers; they speak the language, understand the nuances of the industry, and they know their system inside out. The lines are toll free, rarely busy, and I cannot remember being on hold. Any input from me regarding errors in the system or suggestions for improvements are cheerfully welcomed. I have found quite the opposite with other programs. Improvements and upgrades are being made constantly with e-mail notification of each change to the user.
By mid January of 2007, I was comfortable enough with the program to begin E-filing. This was a big deal for me. Although I had attended a couple of seminars on E-filing, I was sceptical to say the least. I would never have achieved this without the invaluable assistance of econveyance."
